Blister packaging line from Romaco

Romaco Unity 300 blister packaging line is designed for the low to medium speed segment

The Unity 200, 300 and 600 blister lines are Romaco's fully integrated blister lines for the low to high speed range. They are primarily used for packaging pharmaceutical solid dose products and achieve a maximum output of 200, 300 or 600 blisters per minute, depending on the size. The line consists of a single- or double-lane blister machine with roller sealing, which is connected to a continuous cartoner via a direct transfer. Both the continuous operation of the blister machine and the cartoner ensure very reliable and stable processes.

Unity 300:
The monoblock has a central control system as well as a prepared interface to the cleanroom wall. With a length of only 4.1 m, the primary packaging area in particular has been designed to be very space-saving. Since operating a line in this cleanroom class is extremely energy- and cost-intensive, the compact layout of the Unity 300 offers enormous savings potential - both economically, in terms of energy costs, and ecologically, in terms of CO2 emissions.

The blisters are also transferred to the cartoner in a very confined space. A rotating indexing wheel picks up the blisters from above and transfers them directly to the cartoner. The carousel-like design of the transfer station proves to be very space-saving and also energy-efficient. The shuttle's vacuum cups are only activated when they are transporting a blister. Compared to alternative transfer systems where the vacuum cannot be controlled specifically, the Unity 300's indexing wheel therefore requires significantly less power. Consequently, less heat is generated in the clean room, which has to be dissipated by energy-intensive cooling. On request, the blister line is also available in a climate-neutral version.

When designing the Unity 300, strict attention was paid to ensuring that the compact construction did not come at the expense of ergonomics. For example, the in-process control for drawing the test blisters was positioned directly in front of the die-cutter to save space. When a format change is due, the IPC magazine can simply be swung out, allowing good access to the station behind it. Few and comparatively light format parts also shorten the set-up times of the blister line. Due to its format flexibility, the Unity 300 is very versatile.

The modular line concept of the Unity 300 enables the connection of various track & trace and end-of-line packaging solutions.
